Envoy Air Indoctrination Training – Flight Operations Manual (FOM) Practice Test

The correct answer indicates that medical personnel directed by a physician are the ones allowed to use the emergency medical kits on board. This is important because these kits are intended for use in situations that require specialized medical knowledge and skill. By limiting access to trained medical personnel, the safety and efficacy of any medical intervention can be ensured.

In emergency situations, it is essential to have someone who understands the medical protocols and can properly assess the condition of individuals and use the items in the kit appropriately. Although flight attendants are trained in first aid and emergency procedures, their training does not encompass the full scope of medical care that may be needed in emergencies.

Allowing only specific individuals, such as licensed medical professionals under the direction of another physician, reinforces the importance of following established medical protocols. This ensures that any actions taken are in line with accepted medical standards, which is crucial for the safety and well-being of passengers who may be in distress.
